Two exciting Mitsubishi SUVs include similar names, but different features. These models are the 2021 Outlander Sport and the 2022 Outlander. Those looking for a new SUV may have these cars on their list of vehicles to check out, but which one is best for them? Here is a quick comparison between the new Outlander and the Outlander Sport.

Performance Features on the 2021 Outlander Sport and 2022 Outlander

Both Outlander models are exciting to drive and offer plenty of excellent performance metrics. However, there are a few notable differences between the two Mitsubishi Outlander models. The ’22 Outlander features a more powerful engine with an output of 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, while the ’21 Outlander Sport includes a 148 horsepower engine with an output of 145 pound-feet of torque.

The Outlander and Outlander Sport each include a wide range of trim levels and configurations to choose from and each offers configurations for four-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. In terms of towing capacity, the 2022 Outlander gains an edge thanks to its more powerful engine. It features a towing capacity of 2200 pounds, while the 2021 Outlander Sport is not rated for any towing capabilities.

Interior Features

One large difference between these two SUVs is the seating capacity. The 2022 Outlander features seating for seven passengers while the Outlander Sport only includes five seats. Both the Outlander and Outlander Sport include plenty of great entertainment features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
